My Life is a Canvas...........

Growing up in a Middle Class Household was never a normal life for me. My Parents split when I was 7. My Father an alcoholic and My Mother constantly on edge and mentally not there for me growing up. I had two older sisters consistently fighting and picking at me. We had alot of good times and alot of bad times. I was lost in a world of disillusion. The only thing that I had growing up that was stable was my ability to draw. I would draw my life away. I would fantasize about far away places and people. Always getting a pat on the back from my parents for my efforts on paper. Although I may seem callous about my Parents,I don't mean to come across that way. They were my first art fans. I must say Mom and Dad always encouraged me to draw. I accepted them for who they were and they encouraged me with my Art. I left home the summer I graduated (1989) and turned 18 feeling life had so much more to offer then the hand I was dealt. I moved 3000 miles away to California....I continued to Paint and Draw but lost who I was for a moment in time. I returned home to VA in 1992 loosing everything I ever painted and drew in CA. I carried on with no hope or supplies to disappear on the canvas of my life....
Then I got the call from an old flame. We dated and he saw my spark. He managed to supply me with the paints and canvas' I yearned for. My flame for life was ignited once again.... We went on to Marry and start our family....having a beautiful daughter that I named Madison Grace. Being too busy to paint ,I managed to continue growing in life with my family. Focusing on them was my main priority.....15 years go by........and then he came to me. A gift from God. A surprise of all surprises.....We were blessed with another child.....While Pregnant I began to paint and focus on myself and my growth. Painting local historical spots in my area as well as childhood memories growing up in Willoughby Spit in Norfolk, VA at my Dads "Cottage". I dug deep for the rays of sunshine growing up. There were many. Realizing that none is Perfect...My "Alcoholic Father" and My "Crazy Mom" did Love me. They did encourage me. Although my home life was not perfect....we did have some good times as kids.....and these memories were put on canvas. Realizing that I had a gift again....I began to network my art. I realized that I have a marketable talent. I realized that people love "Custom Art"......and the orders started rolling in. I have been so busy being home with this adorable boy and painting.....Life is Good.
Today I have put together this website and I plan on painting the rest of my life away.......by making others happy.
I have lived by the motto "Where the is a will, there is a way" and I finally found my way!
